In 2021, Francis Odeyemi, our founder, faced a challenge while designing: the lack of Afrocentric images. To address this, he began capturing photos himself, featuring black models to showcase diversity. Within six months, his images gained immense popularity, with over 5 million views and 24,000 downloads via his Unsplash page. Major platforms like Figma, Mailchimp, Notion, Squarespace , and Wix featured his work.

Encouraged by the positive response, he founded Ninthgrid, a stock image company providing diverse Afrocentric images for business and creative projects.
